Freeform is an Italian brand of treeless saddles and accessories. They are genuinely handmade in Italy and not elsewhere in the world. This applies to all their products! The saddles consist of 2 to 3 parts: a "base" for the horse, supplemented with Velcro pads or a pad with inserts, and a "seat" customized for the rider.
100% Symmetry
Freeform saddles are made with a unique technique. The foam, from which the bases and seats are made, is molded and then covered with high-quality Italian calf leather or, if desired, vegan leather. This ensures that the saddles are always 100% symmetrical in the base, despite being handmade.
Flexibility
The soft structure and flexibility of the foam allow horses and ponies not to be hindered in their movement, similar to other treeless saddles. The horse's back can bend, improving the vertical and lateral movement of the spine.
Rider Position and Posture
In a Freeform saddle, the rider sits directly behind the withers to minimize pressure after the 14th vertebra and to give the shoulder blades complete freedom of movement. The seats, customized for the rider, help place the rider's weight at the horse's center of gravity.
Rider Seat and Feel
Unlike Barefoot treeless saddles, Freeform saddles feel more like a "normal" saddle but with the familiar close contact feel of a treeless saddle due to their flexibility. The seats do not provide a wide sitting feeling and are therefore also recommended for riders with hip problems. With the various seats available, you can choose the one that best fits your buttocks and thighs.
PLIP Pad Tests
Freeform saddles have been tested and compared with other treeless saddles using the PLIP pad. It has been shown that Freeform has one of the best pressure/weight distributions.
Custom Saddles
As mentioned above, Freeform saddles consist of multiple parts: a base, seat, Velcro pads, and/or a pad with inserts. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for all horses and riders, so various combinations can be made. Additionally, there is a vast variety of leather and vegan leather types to choose from. First, we are happy to help you find the perfect combination with our saddle fitting service. We also bring samples of all leather types so you don’t have to rely solely on pictures. Once you've made your choice, we order your saddle, which has a delivery time of about 8 weeks.

Seats: 15 to 20 inches
Weight: average base + seat 3.5 kg
A 20-inch seat cannot fit on an extra short base, but a 17-inch seat can fit on an extra short base. This means there are also solutions for short horses and riders with a bit more seat.
