What is a Hackamore Bitless Bridle?
A hackamore noseband applies pressure on the nose and chin. Its action is sharper than, for example, a cross-under bridle, but it offers a quicker release. A sidepull only applies pressure on the nose and is therefore softer. The hackamore shanks create leverage — the longer the shanks, the stronger the leverage. This means that the rein aids you give are amplified by the hackamore’s leverage effect, resulting in more influence on your horse.
No Browband
At EDIX we recommend using your bridle without a browband. It is not needed to keep the bridle stable on your horse’s head. This reduces pressure behind the ears and on the poll.
We also believe that “less is more” — it’s beautiful to see your horse’s face without a browband.
If you still prefer a browband, they are available separately.

Fitting the Rose Bridle
A hackamore should fit like a regular bridle. The noseband should sit about four fingers above the mouth and not on the fragile lower nasal bone. Keep around two fingers of space below the cheekbones.
The chin strap should be snug but still allow the horse to open its mouth comfortably. If it’s too loose, your aids become less clear, and there’s a higher risk of the bridle slipping off.

Care Instructions for Argentinian Leather
For maintenance, EDIX recommends using Oakwood leather care products. Please note: light-coloured leather may darken slightly when treated. Always choose a product that is as colourless as possible.
