EDIX Equis treeless western saddle
A treeless saddle with a stylish western look – that’s what you’ll find in the EDIX Equis. Thanks to the beautiful but not overly ornate leather tooling, the saddle looks classy without being over the top. Suitable for both western and leisure riders.
EDIX MPDS pressure distribution system
It is more accurate to speak of a saddle combination rather than just a saddle. A treeless saddle must always be used together with a matching pad. This pad forms the foundation of the saddle. It lifts the saddle slightly and, together with the MPDS system inside the saddle, ensures there is space between the spine and the saddle combination.
The saddle itself contains separate, integrated, pressure-absorbing, anatomically shaped soft foam panels on both sides – the MPDS system. Combined with the pad containing 3Mesh inserts, it provides shock absorption and rebound while creating a channel for spinal clearance. This construction results in a very stable, flexible and soft contact surface with the horse’s back. The pad is not included and must be ordered separately. See the MPDS diagram for the various layers that provide optimal pressure distribution while maintaining flexibility.
EDIX rider comfort
The EDIX Equis offers the rider a soft and stable seat due to the complete absence of hard materials. The suppleness of the materials used makes the saddle extremely flexible. As a result, the saddle can follow the movement of the horse’s back and shoulders in all directions, giving the horse maximum freedom of movement. This also allows the rider to feel the horse better, improving communication and promoting an independent seat.
EDIX Equis leather
The EDIX Equis is made from strong and supple buffalo leather. It is slightly less soft for the rider compared to the Soft Leather used for the EDIX Tiamo, but it is ideal for performing leather tooling.
Girth system EDIX Equis
The EDIX Equis treeless saddle features a traditional western girth system with a nylon off billet and tie strap. A western girth is required to use the saddle; this is not included. EDIX recommends the FRA Western Super Girth, but any western girth can be used.
D-rings on the EDIX Equis
Equipped with 10 D-rings for attaching gear or saddle bags.
Fenders and stirrups for the EDIX Equis
Matching fenders and stirrups are available for the EDIX Equis but must be purchased separately. The fenders are adjustable with traditional Blevin slide buckles.
Pommel and/or fork on EDIX saddles
You can choose which pommel or fork your saddle is supplied with. If needed, it can be replaced later with a different size. You can opt for a pommel (without horn) or a fork (with horn). This allows you to give the treeless western saddle a more endurance-style look with a pommel or remove the horn if you find it inconvenient, for example when dismounting. When using a pommel instead of a fork, no opening remains – the zipper can be closed completely. Pommels and forks are available separately in sizes XS, S, M, L, XL and Soft. This allows you to adjust the saddle width to the horse’s back.
