EDIX Brightstar Dressage Pad

The EDIX Brightstar Dressage Pad with inserts is suitable for both treeless and traditional saddles. It features a sheepskin collar around the withers for added softness and is anatomically shaped. There is one large pocket on each side of the back and three small pockets on the top for inserts. Standard felt inserts are included. Thanks to the 8 pockets, the pressure distribution or saddle fit can be improved. Where the rider’s leg rubs during riding, a nylon reinforcement is added to prevent fabric wear.

Advantages of EDIX Dressage Pad with Sheepskin:

The shaved spine channel on the sheepskin underside ensures more spinal clearance and is seamless to prevent irritation.
The sheepskin underside helps with pressure distribution under the saddle and prevents chafing.
Shim possibilities for applying corrections to the saddle’s fit.

Disadvantages of Sheepskin Dressage Pad:

Sheepskin, especially when new, is slippery and can cause the saddle to slide more quickly on round horses.
Producing sheepskin requires slaughtering a sheep, so it is not sheep-friendly.
To maintain the benefits of sheepskin, the pad must be washed with sheepskin detergent.

The dressage pad is ideal for:

Sensitive horses
Horses with sensitive skin
Horses needing small corrections under their saddle
Use under treeless (dressage) saddles

Less suitable for:

Horses whose saddles tend to slip easily.

Using the EDIX Brightstar Dressage Pad:

By using full merino sheepskin instead of shaved and woven wool, the benefits of this natural material are fully utilized. It is therefore recommended to use the pad directly on the horse’s back, without any additional layers.

Maintaining Merino Wool:

The EDIX Brightstar dressage pad is machine washable on a cold program. A sheepskin detergent should be used. Sheepskin should dry slowly and not in the sun. The inserts are removable.
