GreenGuard Grazing Muzzle
The GreenGuard grazing muzzle is a sturdy and breathable muzzle made of strong plastic. It is attached to a halter using the straps provided. Special halters are available that fit this muzzle better, and using one is recommended. However, the muzzle can also be attached to a regular halter.
Insert plates are available separately in Cob and Full sizes. These restrict grass intake even more, making them ideal for horses on a diet or during risky periods when grass is high in sugar. Insert plates also help extend the life of the muzzle and reduce wear on the teeth.

Because the material is rigid, it can wear down teeth more quickly. It is therefore recommended to use an insert plate to help protect the teeth and prolong the muzzle's lifespan.
Preventing tooth damage:
It is strongly recommended to use the muzzle only with a rubber or leather insert plate to protect the teeth. Have your horse’s teeth checked regularly (at least annually) by an equine dentist and monitor dental condition more frequently. The fit also greatly affects dental wear, so follow the fitting instructions carefully. When in doubt, seek expert help.
