Startrekk Dolphin Pommel Insert
The adjustable Dolphin pommel insert is ideal for horses and ponies that fluctuate in weight/muscling. The Dolphin insert allows you to easily adjust your saddle to be wider or narrower.
Advantages of the Startrekk Dolphin pommel insert:
- Ideal if you have a Startrekk saddle and your pommel insert is worn out or you want a different size
- This pommel insert is adjustable and can be set wider than the fixed pommel inserts of Startrekk
- Suitable for Startrekk Espaniola and Comfort saddles
- Available in multiple colors
Suitable for:
This pommel insert is suitable for the following Startrekk saddles:
- Comfort English
- Comfort Western
- Espaniola
- Espaniola Bonita
- Espaniola Deluxe
Please note: Some Espaniola saddles have a decorated pommel insert with more square corners. This is not the case with the Dolphin pommel insert, which is round as shown in the photos.
Color of Dolphin pommel insert:
Choose the color and leather type that matches your saddle or complements it well. Please note that there may be a color difference because a new pommel insert is covered with new leather, and your saddle may have slightly discolored due to use.
B number:
To enable Startrekk to make the pommel insert exactly right for your saddle, the B number of your saddle is required. This is often found around the leather of the stirrup suspension stamped into the leather. But it is also on your warranty certificate. Very old Startrekk saddles do not have a number, so it is not possible to order an insert for them.
Delivery of pommel insert:
Delivery includes an Allen key for adjustment. You will need your own tools for attaching it to your saddle.
Delivery time:
Since the accessories for Startrekk saddles are made in South America, the current delivery time is 10-12 weeks.
Instruction for bow:
Under the leather strap is the keyhole.
- Insert the key and turn it counterclockwise for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The clasp should then be loose. You can then use your hand and some force to make the clasp wider or narrower.
If it still won’t move, turn the key a little bit further counterclockwise, but do not keep turning full circles. (You can remove the key while adjusting.) - When you have the correct size, hold it firmly and turn it back clockwise until you cannot turn any further. There should be normal resistance — you do not need to use all your strength when turning it back.
- Once it is tightened, test again by hand to make sure the clasp is really secure.
Tip: it can be helpful to do this with two people — one operates the key and the other holds the clasp at the correct size.
